The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in collaboration with the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), has launched the free online resource and training, STEADI: The Pharmacist’s Role in Older Adult Fall Prevention based on CDC’s Stopping Elderly Accidents, Deaths & Injuries (STEADI) initiative (www.cdc.gov/steadi). Pharmacists play a pivotal role in helping older adults avoid falls, as medication use is a significant yet modifiable risk factor for falls among older individuals.
