Get Ready for Fall Prevention Awareness Week 2015!

Among older adults, falls are the leading cause of injury deaths, unintentional injuries, and hospital admissions for trauma. Falls can take a serious toll on older adults’ quality of life and independence. To recognize this critical issue, at the state level, SCR 77 (D-Lowenthal) was passed in 2008 declaring the first week of Fall each year as Fall Prevention Awareness Week.

Fall Prevention Coalition-Los Angeles Launches One Year Call to Action

On Monday, September 9th, seven expert presenters and more than 50 professionals participated in a symposium on the impact of falls coordinated by the Fall Prevention Coalition – Los Angeles which kick- started the Call to Action initiative to change the landscape of fall prevention in Los Angeles County.
